Artist's Statement:
I consider my election to the Cowboy Artists of America in 1994 my finest moment and greatest
challenge. The awards I received for this image, (Morning Fire) therefore, present me with an even greater challenge
for the future. It's been my pleasure and honor to paint the modern Apache and Paiute for more than twenty
years now, and I hope to continue capturing and communicating their beauty and importance as
they, and hopefully my artistic knowledge, continues to grow.
